FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD
MISSION STATEMENT
Northeast Los Angeles Futbol Club was founded for the sake of providing a team where players from the surrounding districts of NELA can come together to compete while representing their neighborhood. The main goal for the club is to allow our youth and adults the opportunity to compete in the local leagues available to us, to travel to different cities or even out of state for different tournaments, and set up exhibitions against high level amateur clubs but most importantly to bring trophies to our cabinet. The dream is to hopefully one day make an impact in the US Open Cup and bring attention to the footballing ability that Northeast Los Angeles has to offer.
Who are the Corinthians?
Our club was founded and inspired by a soccer club in England founded in 1882 named Corinthian Football Club. The club was famed for its ethos of “sportsmanship, fair play, and playing for the love of the game”. They were a team who popularized the sport and had a major impact in the game by inspiring “Real Madrid CF” to wear white, inspired the most successful club in South America “SC Corinthians Paulista”, they have given “Manchester United FC” their record defeat 11-3, they fielded the first ever Black player, and popularized the term soccer.

HISTORY
The team was founded in 2015 as a U16 & U17 team. We merged with the U15 Anahuak Youth Soccer League U15 champs called Leones Negros and won a title in the U17 division in our debut season in 2016. The team aged out of Cal South in 2017 and moved to the Alhambra Soccer League where a championship was won at the U19 division with the same Leones Negros name. Following a small break the club was rebranded into Northeast Los Angeles Futbol Club with the aim of getting into the US Soccer pyramid and competing at the elite amateur levels. A 3rd trophy was won in the California Soccer League at the U21 age group We’ve been in So Cal Premier since the 2019-20 season with a small hiatus in the 2022-23 season. During that hiatus the team was able to win the Los Angeles Municipal League in the Major AM bracket in July 2023.
